Events in Samoëns

• Samoëns Market – Every Wednesday from 7 AM to 1 PM

Samoëns market offers a variety of stalls with fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and cold cuts, fishs, and breads. During school holidays, it extends throughout the village, also featuring clothes, crafts, and regional specialties. A must-visit event in Samoëns!

• Ultra Trail® du Haut-Giffre – Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16

A major event in Haut-Giffre, this race attracts nearly 2,000 participants each year. With its seven races, it offers various options for those who want to discover the mountains while challenging themselves. 

The different races: 

- Ultra Tour des Lacs aux Cimes (UTLAC): 128km / 9050m D+

- Ultra-Trail® du Haut-Giffre (UTHG): 96km / 6750m D+

- Trail des Frahans (TDF): 53km / 3700m D+

- Tour du Bostan (TDB): 33km / 2150m D+

- La Montée de Gers (MDG): 18km / 970m D+

- Au Fil du Giffre (FDG): 9km / 330m D+

- The Mini Cross for Children: 1.5km

• Samoëns American Festival – Thursday, June 27 to Sunday, June 30

For four days, Samoëns adopts an American theme with country dance workshops, concerts, shows, a market, a Wild West village, and gatherings of civilian and military vehicles. Bring your hat, as a Texan ambiance takes over the Giffre massif.

• Lyric Festival – Monday, July 15 to Wednesday, July 31

For fifteen days, Samoëns and the Giffre valley resonate with the sounds of lyrical singings. Concerts, masterclasses, and activities take place at the cultural space Le Bois aux Dames, offering a unique and appealing festival for music enthusiasts and the curious alike.  

• Adopte 1 Col – Sunday, July 21

Cycling enthusiasts, this challenge is for you! Conquer the famous Col de Joux Plane on a road reserved for cyclists. Enjoy this legendary pass, often crossed by the Tour de France, with its demanding climb and breathtaking views of the Giffre valley and Mont Blanc.

• Criou Celtic Festival – Tuesday, August 13 to Saturday, August 17

Samoëns will resonate with the sounds of Irish music thanks to musicians and dancers from Westport, Ireland, and other Celtic regions. This festive week features parades, concerts, and dance performances, celebrating the richness of Irish and Celtic culture. 

• Criou Vertical Kilometer – Sunday, August 18

Take on the challenge of the Criou Vertical Kilometer, one of the steepest races in France. Starting from the village, you must quickly ascend the 2km to the summit of Criou, with a positive elevation gain of 1000 meters. Begin with a warm-up from the village to the official race start point, then climb as fast as possible to the summit of Criou in an intense time trial.

Events in Flaine

• Performing Arts – From Saturday, June 29 to Friday, July 5

Come and discover the performing arts throughout this week with the «Artventuriers» company. Mornings will be dedicated to children’s workshops: puppets, clowns, soap bubbles, circus, and magic. Afternoons will feature comedic street performances and shows for all ages.

• Thursday Apéros – Every Thursday of the Summer

Enjoy free live concerts starting at 5:30 PM at the forum of Flaine every Thursday during the summer season, with special editions on July 14 and August 15.

• Fine Arts in Flaine – From Saturday, July 6 to Friday, July 12

A week dedicated to artistic exploration, designed to explore or revisit the very essence of the Flaine resort through a variety of methods: artistic observation, paper construction, collage, creation on postcards, and clay modeling.

• Made in Flaine – From Saturday, July 20 to Friday, July 26

Discover «Made in Flaine», a week dedicated to 6-12 year olds, focused on crafts and craftsmanship. With Pulse Activity, create your personalized walking stick, assemble a clock, and customize a corkscrew to take home!

• Olympic Games – From Saturday, August 3 to Friday, August 9

We all know that this summer, the real Olympic Games are taking place in Flaine! The program includes the opening ceremony, lighting of the Olympic flame, Flainoise-style Olympic events, and the closing ceremony.

• Happy Kids – From Saturday, August 10 to Friday, August 16

A special week for kids focused on circus arts! Every morning, enjoy various workshops and attend shows open to all. In partnership with the company Commun Accord.

• Trapper Week – From Saturday, August 17 to Friday, August 23
